National Launch of SEVA Trust UK at The House of Commons, London on the day of Guru Nanak Gurpurb during an Education Seminar by NISAU, UK. The event was attended by Mr David Lelliott OBE - British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma – Minister of Education & Tourism of Haryana Govt, H.E. Mr. Dinesh Patnaik - Acting High Commissioner of India, Mr. Virendra Sharma MP, Mr Alok Sharma MP, Mr Bob Blackman MP, Ms Sanam Arora – President of National Indian Students and Alumni Union, UK and leading Scholars and Academics from the UK and India.
Held various meetings with the Educational Institutions in Punjab and Haryana (India), Scholars and Academics, Community and Charity Reps. SEVA Trust UK identified 15 underprivileged students and provided them with financial support and educational advice. A rural school received the required digital equipment.
Held meeting with Mr Javaid Malla Energy & Low Carbon Adviser at the British Deputy High Commission, Chandigarh to discuss environmental projects. SEVA Trust UK organised various workshops and talks on Education and Environment in preparation for future projects and delivery plans.
Launch of SEVA Trust UK at Bedford on Indian Republic Day function by the world’s oldest marathon record holder Baba Fauja Singh. Other guests and dignitaries included Baroness Young of Old Scone (Member of House of Lords), Counsellor DP Singh – Indian High Commission, London, Cllr Carl Meader - The Mayor of Kempston, Mr Paul Fuller CBE – Chief Fire Office, Mark Lay – Detective Chief Superintendent for Bedfordshire Police, Cllr Sue Oliver – The Labour Group Leader, Cllr Steven Moon – The Conservative Group Leader, Mr Buddhdev Pandya MBE, Mr Jasbir Singh Parmar – Founder Chairman of Bedfordshire Asian Bushiness Association, Ms Sanam Arora – President of NISAU, Pastor Bhatti, Community and Charity Leaders and members of the public.
Organised various workshops on education and career opportunities in the public sector for underrepresented (B.A.M.E.) groups in Bedfordshire.
With the support of local families, a new power backup generator was installed at a rural school in Punjab to help in dealing with regular power cuts.
Arranged Health, Wellbeing and Yoga session for B.A.M.E. ladies group at Southfield Community Centre, Kempston, Bedford.
Official Launch of SEVA Trust UK in India at Ajit Nagar village (close to Punjab and Haryana border area) by the world record holder Baba Fauja Singh, Mr Amrendra Singh – OSD Chief Minister Haryana, Mr Anil Mehta – Deputy Advocate General (DAG), Dr Gurnam Singh – Punjabi University, Patiala, SEVA Trust UK Trustees Mr Charan Sekhon and Mr Surjit Dhanju, Community Leaders of around 25 rural villages, Charity Reps and over 1000 members of the public. SEVA Trust UK received huge support from the local communities and identified a number of future projects.
SEVA Trust UK Registration in India as a Public Charitable Trust was completed & further amended in 2021 (Registration No. 3615)
SEVA Trust UK charity Registration in England and Wales was completed (Registration No. 1172654).
